About

The Indian Run Story…

When the United Methodist Church decided in 1981 that there was a need for a new church in Dublin, a historic community with a recent golf course development and lots of potential for future growth, the Indian Run congregation was born. The initial congregation was made up of members of the other area United Methodist Churches, primarily from the Northwest UMC congregation, who were willing to “homestead” a new church. Worshipping first in the barn behind the parsonage, the congregation quickly grew.

Soon the barn was outgrown and they began holding services at a local elementary school. Each week, the pastor would tow a small trailer to the school and the congregation would unload everything needed for the church service. In the fall of 1984, Indian Run dedicated our building near the corner of Brand and Avery Roads.

Since then, the fellowship of Indian Run has continued to grow and we have repeatedly expanded our ministries to meet the needs of our congregation and the community, including the Indian Run Preschool which opened in 1989.

As we continue into God’s future for Indian Run, we are excited for what lies ahead and hope that you will join in sharing to do His work here in Dublin, OH.
